Ollin · The Movement – Owl Alebrije
Description
In the Aztec world, Ollin means "movement" the turning of the sun and the pulse of living change. Here it takes the form of an owl, the watchful guardian of the night, carved from a single piece of copal wood by master artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Its great eyes radiate in rings of gold and turquoise around deep amber, above a silvery beak marked with a single spiral. Every surface is covered in astonishingly fine hand-painted detail chevrons and stepped frets across the brow, and long bands of woven geometry down the breast and back, in gold, green, turquoise, and firelit red, laid down line by line and dot by dot. No two inches repeat.
A singular, one-of-a-kind collector's piece, signed by its maker and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Approx. 7.1 × 3.1 × 4.7 in.
