Alas Set Sculpture

Two little birds, always together. This pair of resin songbirds is covered by hand in fine Huichol beadwork, each bead set one by one in natural wax to form flowing patterns of feathers, flowers and stars. Perched on slim solid-steel legs, they look ready to take flight from any shelf.

In Huichol tradition, birds are messengers between the earth and the sky, and as a pair they become a sweet symbol of love, friendship and companionship. Display them on a nightstand, a windowsill or a bookshelf, side by side or facing each other. A thoughtful gift for couples, newlyweds, best friends or anyone starting a new chapter together. To keep your Huichol beaded piece looking its best, we recommend:
- Handle gently: each bead is set by hand in natural wax and can loosen. Lift the birds by their metal legs, never by the beadwork.
- Keep away from sun and heat, which soften the wax.
- Dust with a soft, dry brush; avoid water and cleaners.
- Display on a stable surface, away from small children and pets (loose beads are a choking hazard).
